Mark Eigenraam

Mark Eigenraam has spent more than two decades placing a credible economic value on nature.
He built his career across multilateral organisations (UN) and government, producing Australia's first experimental ecosystem accounts along the way. He also worked at the United Nations in New York on the development of the SEEA, that now underpins how economies around the world measure natural capital.
Mark has been applying the SEEA standard in practice ever since, advising governments, investors and businesses to build systems and technology infrastructure that make nature-based risks and opportunities visible in the decisions that matter.
He holds a Master of Commerce in Economics from the University of Melbourne.

Carl Obst

Carl Obst is one of a small number of people in the world who can say they helped write the global standard for measuring nature.
As lead author and editor of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting, the SEEA, Carl helped build the framework that governments, statistical agencies and financial institutions now use to place natural capital on equal economic footing with every other asset class. That work drew on five years as head of the Australian National Accounts at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and a deep conviction that nature deserved the same analytical rigour as any other economic variable.
Today, Carl advises organisations around the world on how to apply environmental economics in ways that are credible, comparable and built to last.
He holds a Bachelor of Economics in Econometrics from the University of New England.
