The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Victoria has launched a new Sustainability and Climate series to help public sector professionals make informed decisions, design policy and implement programs.
The series began with an interview with IDEEA Group Director Carl Obst. Carl talks about why it is important for the public sector to understand the role and value of nature and how to start incorporating this into public policy work.
Before founding IDEEA Group with his colleague Mark Eigenraam, Carl had a long-standing career in the public service, including five years as head of the Australian National Accounts with the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Carl has a combined understanding of strong policy making and natural capital thinking and approaches. This video a great introduction to those interested in understanding the benefits of nature in a policy context.
