We’re delighted to share this new set of natural capital accounts with you. Cassinia Environmental is an Australian environmental impact company that supports healthy, connected and productive landscapes. Over the past 18 years, they have delivered more than 100 projects, positively impacting over 18,000 hectares across three states.

Over the past few months, we’ve been working with Cassinia to produce a comprehensive set of natural capital accounts. Delivered in a concise report, Cassinia’s natural capital accounts were designed to underpin future investment in their business operations: restoring landscapes across Australia.

The accounts tell their story so effectively. You can see how their business – and their reach – has grown. And you can see how they’ve increased the stock of natural capital and the flows from nature on the land that they manage.

Here’s a snapshot of some of the results. Cassinia has:

  • increased the condition of habitats and species across their management areas by 31%
  • retained 2,936 tonnes of carbon per annum
  • supported 453 flora species and 49 flora species, most of which are rare, threatened or vulnerable.

The document itself is short and to the point. It outlines Cassinia’s accounts in just 10 pages, making the concept of natural capital accounting much more accessible to readers and investors alike.
